Okay, so I only wrote half the story I intended. I stopped posting on day 10 but I wrote for several days thereafter and got over 30,000 words in. Then I stopped. I was over the halfway mark and facing almost certain victory when I just stopped dead in my tracks.
I could give lots of excuses, but the truth is much worse. I just hated the story.
Now, anyone who has ever participated in NaNoWriMo can vouch for the fact that by week two it gets tough and it is a lot of hard work to keep the word count up. That wasn't the problem. Before it was always at least a bit of fun or I was interested in what would happen next. This time I realized I didn't care and if I was reading this book I would have ditched it on page two.
It was easier to put it out of my misery and shelf the idea until I know what was wrong with it than force myself to write something that I hated.
Anyway, maybe one day I'll post something more interesting.
